Welcome to Lemon Tree Literacy, where we focus on guiding young learners in their quest to unlock literacy. We offer individualized reading instruction for children in grades K-5, leveraging research- based practices to help all students become proficient and confident readers.

Our Approach

Our systematic approach is based on the Science of Reading and the Orton Gillingham Method. Grounded in the latest research on how children learn to read, we recognize the pivotal role of systematic, explicit instruction in early reading intervention. Students with learning difficulties especially benefit from the importance of small group instruction and evidence-based methodologies in nurturing proficient reading skills. By adhering to these principles, we equip children with the essential tools for successful literacy development, laying a strong foundation for their academic journey and mitigating future challenges.

OUR SERVICES

Lemon Tree Literacy provides customized reading lessons for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. We work closely with families, private and charter schools, and homeschool groups. Our teaching approach is personalized to address each child’s individual requirements, whether in one-on-one sessions or small group settings.

Meet Ms. Ambrose

Jessica Ambrose, MS Ed.

Jessica Ambrose is driven by a passion for helping students unlock the mysteries of reading. Her journey as a literacy educator began in Syracuse, NY, where she collaborated closely with the Reading League to learn best practices to teach her K-5 students. After seeing significant growth in student performance and getting a deeper understanding of the research behind effective reading instruction, Ms. Ambrose embraced the practices within the Science of Reading. Jessica is devoted to empowering children, even the most reluctant learners, with the skills they need to become confident and proficient readers.

My daughter did not attend VPK due to Covid so when she went into Kindergarten she was totally behind all the other children in her class. The first quarter of school she had all F's.
